Virtual Super System is an emulation of the classic Atari VCS 5200 game console on DOS computers. The development of the new version took no less than 3 years, and about 90% of all available 5200 binaries are said to run on it. The Virtual Super System is available for free download. (tr)

The packer shell ArcView is available for download in its 09 October version 0.81. New features include greatly improved MiNT compatibility and improved loader routines for LZH archives. ArcView is still freeware. (tr)

Version checker for Calamus (09.10.2001 - 11:10 Uhr)

After invers Software switched off its support mailbox some time ago, the company now presents the new Calamus module Version Checker, which takes care of the administration of modules and drivers so that you will no longer miss an update. Furthermore, the module shows further information about all products around the professional DTP solution on the Atari. For the online check, however, you need the Calamus WinPack version 2.8.0.0 or higher. A check for pure Atari versions is still being worked on. (tr)

FonTools as a TypeArt crossgrade (09.10.2001 - 11:10 Uhr)

Until the end of 2001 invers Software still offers a low-priced crossgrade from TypeArt 2.0 to FonTools 2.0. Thus, Calamus users can add the € character to their typesets, e.g. before the end of the German Mark. Type-1 and TrueType fonts can be saved and edited as CFN fonts. The price for the crossgrade is DM 129.--, a saving of DM 70.-- compared to the single purchase of FonTools. (tr)

The ADAT is a meeting of Atari users interested in DTP. It offers an exchange of experiences, workshops and lectures. The 16th ADAT meeting will take place from 06 to 09 December 2001 in Willebadessen near Paderborn. Registrations are now being accepted. Directions can be found on the invers Software website. Contests at MagiC Online (08.10.2001 - 12:10 Uhr)

Through a new partnership with a gift shop, Canadian online service MagiC Online can hold weekly or bi-weekly competitions. The aim is to give the creative Atari user community a new platform. In keeping with Halloween, the task of the first competition is to draw the scariest possible copy of the Atari logo. The prize is a porcelain collector's figurine of Charlie Brown on the computer. The British online magazine MyAtari has now made its September issue available for download. The archive comprises almost 5 MBytes - so the English-speaking reader can expect a lot of reading fun. (tr)

Luna 2.00.4 Beta (08.10.2001 - 12:10 Uhr)

The text editor Luna is available in version 2.00.4 beta. RGF Software now also provides a Finnish resource file with it, which will make the program even more widely available. The current version is available to registered members of the website. (tr)

GEMGraph 2.20 (08.10.2001 - 12:10 Uhr)

The charting and presentation programme GEMGraph is now available in version 2.20. The update contains a number of bug fixes. Bitmap graphics can now be exported. Vector formats (*.GEM) created by GEMGraph can now also be read with Kandinsky and ArtWorx. Drag & Drop has also been greatly improved. A graphic can now be transferred directly to Papyrus by drag & drop. In addition, there are numerous error corrections.

CyberVirus: New game for the Atari Lynx (08.10.2001 - 08:10 Uhr)

CyberVirus is a new game for the Atari Lynx currently in the works at American game developer Songbird Productions. A preview version, strictly limited to 20 copies, will already be sold and demonstrated at the "CinciClassic" game fair taking place in the USA in November. (tr)

The "Atari ST Scene Genealogy" is an ambitious attempt to provide a scene database of groups active on the Atari. Addressed are all crews that now or in the past have developed demos etc. on ST, STE or Falcon. Already no less than 198 crews and 534 sceners are registered. (tr)
